How We Make Money

RoofWise Guide is free to use. Our calculators, cost guides, storm tools, and Roofing University lessons cost you nothing, and we do not put our core research behind a paywall. Running the site still costs money, so here is precisely where that money comes from.
1. Display advertising
We show third-party display ads on some pages. Ads are labeled, kept out of the way of the content you came for, and never dressed up to look like editorial recommendations. Advertisers have no input on what we write.
2. Affiliate links
Some product links earn us a commission when you buy, at no additional cost to you. We also link to plenty of products where we earn nothing. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
3. Premium homeowner tools
Optional paid features — satellite roof measurement, detailed roof reports, and the homeowner property vault — are purchased directly by users. See pricing. Paying for a report never changes the cost figures we publish.
4. Contractor and pro memberships
Roofing companies can pay for a business profile, pro tools, and lead access. Paid contractors are always identified as such. A membership does not buy a review score, a ranking in a guide, or removal of negative feedback.
Where we draw the line
- No one can pay to change a cost estimate, comparison result, or calculator output.
- No paid placements inside editorial guides without a clear label.
- No selling your personal data. Lead information is only shared when you ask us to connect you with a contractor.
- Every revenue relationship that touches a page is disclosed on that page.
